In Lieu of Registry

Your gift to us is that you’re coming to celebrate with us, so please feel no obligation for anything beyond that.

If you’d really like to do something, Danielle and I have been supporters of the following organizations and we invite you to make a contribution in our name in lieu of a gift. (Listed in alphabetical order)

The Access Fund

Works to conserve climbing areas, provide safe access for climbing as recreation, and preserve the cultural value of those areas. They’ve been a critical resource as climbing has rapidly expanded, and are responsible for helping secure climbing rights at some of our classic areas.

Doctors Without Borders

Provides medical care throughout the world, particularly in war-torn, famine-stricken and otherwise challenging areas.  Wyeth’s late grandfather, Neill, volunteered with Doctors Without Borders.

NPH USA

Runs orphanages and provides education and medical care in 9 countries in Central America and the Caribbean.  There are currently over 3,000 kids living in NPH homes.  NPH works to keep siblings together and ensure that kids that end up in an NPH home have a stable family-like environment in which to grow up. NPH will even pay for kids who grow up in the homes to go to college as a way to break the cycle of poverty.

NWAC

Is the best source of information for snow safety in our area.  They perform snow monitoring, compile in-depth weather reports, and are the best tool we have to keep ourselves safe in the mountain backcountry in the winter.

Washington Trails Association

Provides incredible resources for hikers, backpackers, and snowshoeers.  They maintain a big online database of Washington trails, so you’re never short of ideas for the next hike.  In addition, they coordinate trail cleanup and maintenance days.

World Wildlife Foundation

Works to minimize the impact that human society has on animals, the environment, and biodiversity. We view the work they do to help protect species and habitat as critically important.
